CURRENT ARCHITECTURAL TENDENCIES IN SPAIN

In order to meet Kyoto protocol, the Spanish Government has launched the CTE (established construction rules) for future buildings and the E Government Financial Plan, thanks to which, over the next few years, the most important trends in Spain will be modernizing and improving the quality of existent buildings and stimulating VPO (government subsidised homes) and the rental market.
It is good news that many disabled, financially restricted and elderly residents - as well as promoters and communities - will also be able to benefit from the 10,2 billion Euros subsidy and 34 billion Euro credit set aside for these improvements.
Another aspect of future construction in Spain will be bioclimatic architecture that consists, not only, in the use of solar panels and ecological materials, but also in the rejection of traditional energy supplies and the use of simple strategies to save energy and improve mankind’s quality of life, for example
recent modifications made to the rules of soundproofing for future buildings will make an important contribution .
All in all, this is an exceptionally good time to start planning the reform or extension of your home in Spain that - when one is talking not only about technical improvement, but one that also includes distribution and design - is better named a “refinement” (one that improves the value and quality of the design).
